Anambra guber poll: INEC announces
restriction on movements
The Independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC) in Anambra on Tuesday said that movement of persons
and vehicles would be restricted between midnight on Friday, Nov. 15 and 10 pm
on Saturday, Nov. 16.

It declared that
the restriction had become necessary for a successful and peaceful conduct of
the gubernatorial election in the state scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 16.
It, therefore, enjoined anyone or group of persons passing through the state to find an alternative route on the said dates and time.

It also said
that nobody would be allowed to move around the state with any security details
no matter how highly placed urging all concerned to abide by the directives
“Anybody who
flouts this order will be arrested and prosecuted.
“These measures
are geared towards a hitch free conduct of gubernatorial election in the state
on the aforementioned dates”, the statement further stated. (NAN).
